Sharpen an Axe to cut the Tree

The employees are not skilled enough and the company hasn't put any effort to build up both Business and Technical skills. Doing politics and relying on consultants or contractors won't help much. Real talented employees are not respected and are often told to keep quiet even if they suggest some valuable changes.

The company doesn't reimburse any business trainings or technical certifications.
Just giving degreed/udemy is not suffice. How many people are really using it?

We often get some internal compliance certification. Not sure how many of them are really taking those to their mind. Your focus will be just complete it and throw it.

I know a manager who calls for meetings around morning 7 am meeting in office. Just wasting hours of time in meetings without even considering if his employees had breakfast. You can have 100's of meetings for a paragraph of code. which is completely useless. By the time you talk in meeting the code can be completed and delivered.

Another manager asks for his employees to be sitting in front of him. Even for going to restroom or water they have to ask his permissions. Such a micromanaging a$$ coming from consulting background.

No employee is equipped for upcoming AI revolution. No one can understand Business data and how data flows. In today's generation we have lots of software's which can reverse engineer the project in matter of minutes.

How many you can hire and how many you can fire. Doesn't matter until you fix the core problems, your company is not heading anywhere.
