Thread regarding CDK Global Inc. layoffs

Left CDK and life is better

The grass, in this case, is definitely greener on the outside.

I agree. I met some very skilled engineers during my time with CDK. Many people regularly getting projects completed on-time and under budget. I suppose after a while the relentless reduction and offshoreing did take a toll on my morale... everyone on here has heard it a thousand times before. Ultimately I was out of work for less than 2 months (I was being picky about whom I work for next). My current work is so much more rewarding. In retrospect, after additional departures after my separation -- CDK did me a huge favor. My attention is turned elsewhere now and things are really great again. A CEO who is approved of almost 4X over BM is a welcome change.

CDK was definitely great in the beginning, I was at the San Jose Office where the vision was to have a bustling 400 employee building environment, with a fresh new office smell and layout. Went down quickly once BK left. I was part of the many layoffs in Oct 2022. I'm now with Government which I'm surprised to say I don't think I'm ever going back to the private sector, government is so much more stable and I'm getting paid 30% more. So layoff was a blessing in disguise. But really the early days of CDK I'm not going to downplay, it was great, lots of excitement in the air, just couldn't keep it up.

I even left for lower pay and I am still much happier.
