Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Putting in long hours to keep from getting fired. How’s that working out for you?

Part of the fault lay with adopting to Citi’s work culture. The work culture is to put in extra extra hours. This is a drive to do more with less. It gives the impression that we’ve got enough people.

If going forward every employee ONLY worked 8 hours per day and ONLY 40 hours per week total regardless if a deadline was met or not, it’d paint a different picture.

Why put in the hours of 2 jobs when you are not getting paid the equivalent of 2 salaries?
The common response is “to keep from getting fired”.
Really? How’s that working out for you? Oh, you’re on the chopping block too, how do you feel about it now?

This post will fall on deaf ears. Most people will put in long hours regardless of diminishing bonus’s or raises. They will do so out of fear. Citi has conditioned people and used fear as a very effective tool to make people step in line. Long hours, quell complaints or concerns etc…

From now on, Citi gets 8 hours from me….tops. Any moaning about meeting aggressive deadlines will be met with the response of “maybe we need to hire more help”.

Just shows what a dumpster fire of a place Citi is, that it would really need 500k employees to carry out the whole array of useless, meaningless and unproductive tasks they force us to do.
