What is the policy if you’re scheduled 8 hours for inventory but everyone was told to go home after 3 hours because we finished counting and scanning. Is this legal? I want my hours

Minimum payout depends by state. Federal law is 2 hours, but some states have pushed it to 3-4.
With Macy’s…it’s VERY legal!!
I was lucky if I worked 3-4 hours a WEEK when I was there! 🙄🫤
Leadership is a joke . Esp. Walt Whitman Macys . No service ,No help . So called manager Laura is an absolute waste . Really is not fair associates do more than their share and she takes credit and a pay check . When is someone (executive’s) going to realize . She is a waste of a pay check and most of the year she is on vacation time. Not around to do her job when she is scheduled to work . What is wrong w you people . Do something already. ????
It varies by state, but usually there's a minimum they have to pay you- usually 2 or 3 hours and not your entire shift.
If you want , I believe you may be able to have AST add a few hours of your PTO to make up the difference if you have it and are willing to use it. I can in my state, not sure if that option varies by state or not.
Minimum is three hours in my state. Weve gotten done early with inventory every night and we go home when we are done. No one is complaining!
They must pay you for the entire shift.
I don’t know but my store planned for that. I’m not sure what they settled on but they were talking about having people come in early so they got their hours
Minimum is 4 hours. Unless your store ran severely over their INV budgeted hours it would make zero sense to send people home early. There are a million things that need to be done daily that aren’t happening due to hands and hours. Sounds like a miss from the leadership team.
You are not owed anything. The salaried execs get the last laugh!
Pace yourself next time. It’s not a race.
I think minimum is 4 hours
