Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Will all of these matter in 5 years time?

Food 🥘 for thought.

Life too short.

No, Med Beds are coming. Health insurance and hospitals will be obsolete.

Actually yea these will matter if legal action takes place. Also if a large DOL/Labor change happens in America these forums could be used as historical information. In general speaking terms. People should be lucky we don’t first name/last names in these to f-c king roast them.

Yes, the disfunction will essentially implode at some point, it is not sustainable. I thought Optum was a healthcare tech company, can we please have a highlight film of the exciting new products optum has created that are new and different than their competitors? All I see is lawsuits again us for AI that produced invalid results, invalid payments, fraud, data breeches and HR complaints. I would like some quality outcome from the 100x crowd.

UHG run by foreign leaders will lead to the complete offshoring of any functions not client facing. People are already realizing the drop in efficiency and quality in most services which leads to higher hidden costs. The system will eventually break and this company will simply become a claims processor for the single payer future of healthcare. Optum efforts to become a software developer and information seller is going to be well beyond a 5yr horizon if at all. So if meanwhile you want to share stories about what working here is like, I say yes the tales matter!

Yes!.
I was laid off in 2015 (my whole department), was able to stay with my company. I am still in my "new" department all these years later. It was not a smooth transition, it was h.e.ll on earth for a good while. It changed who I am (some for the better, but I feel like more for the worse).

I have been safe from yearly layoffs for almost 20 years, but the 1 time it happened it hurt. (And worry of when it will happen again also hurts)

Some people find themselves in much better positions after a layoff, some do not. For some it's mix of better and worse (Income, benefits, work life balance, ect) It all effects your future regardless of if it is in a positive or negative way.

Most people don't like to be forced into change, so on the whole it's a negative experience. (Even when you can pinpoint that it was a good change)
