Crowns half of SSI contributions in severance

To those who got severance, will we be required to pay Crowns half of our social security? Will we see a shock when we received our W2 since we received a significant amount of 2024 wages in 2023?

That's how unemoyment divides the lump sum for their calculations to begin paying you (my state doesn't allow unemployment since I received a severance). That has nothing to do about your ss payment. That was all paid in 2023 along with your taxes. The lump sum is considered 2023 salary, not 2024. It will show on your 2023 W2.

According to my states unemployment office the severance was a one lump payment divided into advance weeks that is calculated into 2024 wages…once that last week equivalent has reached I can refile the claim I attempted to make back in last August

How did you get 2024 wages in 2023? You got a lump sum. It's all 2023. Yes, SSI was paid.
