I thought this site was for good information, but turns out it has done nothing but give me gut wrenching anxiety for months. I'm no longer going to look at it, rumors spread, people get people worked up, whatever happens, happens. If it's my time to go, I will be laid off. I'm ki-ling myself looking at this site every day. So to everyone who wants to continue stressing out over what you can't control, good luck.

The reality is that a large company like this will always be making adjustments here and there on a monthly basis. If there's bad news then maybe there will be a large, wide reduction across the company. Don't get worked up every first Thursday of the month or from every post on this platform. Eventually it may be our turn to see coworkers let go or it may be our job. That's just the reality of it.
...and so you are out! Did you need to make an announcement? It is clear that leadership reviews this site. There is a whole lot of factual information. The majority of the time it is factual and comes to fruition. Perhaps the dates are sometimes off that is because of last minute changes/postponements etc.
For others of us, it is an important site to stay in the know. This is a company of over 400,000 employees and there is a lot going on. This is an M & A company. The overall goal is shareholder value and turn profits for their payouts.
So, best of luck to ya... and for the rest of us, we will ride the wave and sift through the info and feel just a bit more prepared.
They probably got pushed back or put on pause. That has happened in the past. I find this site Very reliable and true. 99% of the time if it says it’s gonna happen it will. I Was scheduled for a 1:1 on Thursday and my leader didn’t even get on and wasn’t showing as in a meeting. So now I’m wondering if that 1:1 was gonna be a layoff.
I have never been caught off guard by layoffs, the decision of who is actually getting laid off has been the only surprise. When an actual layoff is coming there are so many signs you would have to be blind and deaf not to see them. The best thing to do is pay attention to the acquisitions, the business lines unique performance, lawsuits. We do not need 4 people who do the exact same job if the volume of work is not there because we lost customers or contracts. We do not need as many people to answer phones if AI/tech can be used to help answer basic questions, provide electronic information to consumers. We do not need an entire team if the system they support has had all their data migrated to another platform. Those are normal layoffs. What I see that is not normal is, taking a team of fully qualified individuals and then laying them off, saying the position was eliminated, then moving the management level to a new role where the entire staff is contractors or offshore. That is all done as much in secret as possible.
HR trolls and underutilized mgmt should stay off this site! Go do your job better
Love ❤️ sets you free.
I totally agree. JUST DONT QUIT YOUR JOB UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY so you can collect!
Feeling the same - a lot of anxiety and no reason to be on here. I’ll focus on constructive input and keep my resume up to date (just in case!)
