The top 10% to 15% of earners should take a pay cut. This of course includes the C-Suite.
I took a pay cut as a contractor in 2008 when 50k were let go in one day. But that was a huge financial crisis and I had no choice really. Later on when hired as fte I made the pay cut back and more.
Pay cuts are not illegal. Happens in large corporations to help reduce headcount as people will exit, avoid severance and accelerate stock price.

If a pay cut is enforced then it sets the tune going forward. Absolute maximum hours worked per week will ONLY be 40 hours. There will be no such thing as a long week. The days of be on meetings all day and now its time to do the actual work for your 12-16 hour day, will be over with.
A better question is, will Jane take a pay cut?
Pay cut is illegal.
