Re "State Street still has an IT support department ?
Didn't they lay off almost 50% of their staff and then outsource their IT operations
to IBM ??"
Some people call most technical jobs IT. There are always technical jobs being moved out of the US.
Heard 1500 (about) but not where. Lots of rumbling that jobs are being outsourced and offshored. Jobs will likely move to Ireland and India, esp tech jobs. No one is safe. State street really doesn't like people. Its stomach turning to see the weekly company emails where they say "People are our most precious asset!". Look at the health insurance we have, and the retirement plans. People in some groups work ridiculous hours, weekends, really bad for health and wellbeing. Very sad this is such a caustic company.

Double and Triple the workload on the remaining U.S workers ? YES
Allow the staff in India to continue to produce poor quality work ? YES
Tell the U.S workers they have to fix the poorly produced work data from India ? YES
When the U.S workers try to explain the reason they are falling behind even more, is due to the fact they had to send back the error ridden work from India to be done correctly.
Employee Questions:
Layoff more IT folks in the US?
Allow employees to suffer more to perform jobs due to outdated tech?
Company response:
Yes
Remember to read Good News Wednesday! It is insulting they promote this bs when Wednesdays are layoff days. They really don't care about employees.
And now HCL is part of State Street. But, yeah, lots of roles for sent off shore . Some of those items are very good, tbh, but some of them are... Not.
I heard yesterday IS client service in the US got hit quite a bit.
Some areas in IT are more outsourced than others. End user support and service desk is like 90-99%. Some others less. As early 23, all IT is with HCL, not IBM/Kyndrill anymore. In any case, it is all rubbish...

Does anyone know what is happening at State Street irvine?
