Thread regarding Proofpoint Inc. layoffs

RTO - mandate

interesting to see how this is all going to roll out in the next couple weeks. people who live less than 35miles from office have to come into the office 3 days/week (M,T,TH). People outside of 35miles are exempt. What's the real reason for being in the office if not everyone is mandated? Collaboration? isn't that something teams can do over Teams? That worked for the past 3 years. Time will tell who will stay and who will go.

And now laying off 280. Seems like Sumits course of action is to dismantle companies. VMware and now Proofpoint What a shame to lose GS for a DEI hire with no vision. Proofpoint had been proud to not lay off employees during difficult times, but now they're a leader in it.

I had been considering moving from VMware to Proofpoint until i saw he had been announced as CEO, good luck with that, I'll keep looking for a remote job somewhere else.

Shockingly awful responses (and straight up ignoring in some cases) to employee questions from E-staff today. An incredibly poorly thought out and rushed plan. Sumit is off to a terrible start, the sooner he goes the better. Based on his stances and attempt at forcing attrition he would've been better sticking at VMWare, him and Broadcom would've been like two peas in a pod.
