Why layoff Tams this round. Tams promote product adoption and promote customer satisfaction.

And they're laying off ATS too ....
They're going to notice the lack of comms.
That isn’t important in a PE firm.
ATS=SE + TAM + Customer Success Engineer all wrapped into one underpaid package.
THIS is 100% correct. What's funny is that they think that just giving SE's credit for renewals but adding a sh*t ton of other post-sales/delivery/customer success duties onto them without compensating them accordingly will keep them happy.
Do not worry if you are a TAM as TAMs are knowledgeable about the technology, products and features as well as customers.
Just take the money and move on to a better company where you are valued.
The TAM looks after customers all year long, however an ATS will be juggling multiple customers and focussing on those that have pending renewals.
Customers aren't stupid. They're going to notice the lack of comms.
Customers don’t want to deal with the ATS as it is, as all they try do is try sell more. Technical everything goes to the TAM and once the customer is told to goto the ATS you can expect massive push back from the customers
TAMs are the glue that hold it all together.
The poster that said ATS will cannibalize TAMs is likely correct. I expect that to happen in 1-2 years. The problem is, ATS doesn't want that role and the ELT and Directors don't understand what the TAMs do.
Outsourcing Tech Support will drive a lot of customers away. Removing TAMs or rolling them up into ATS will likely drive the other customers away. But that's what happens when ELT and Directors have no idea how things REALLY WORK 3 levels below them.
Of all the cuts over the years, this is the one that went too far and will be looked back as the true beginning of the end.
ATS isn’t that popular in the industry yet. Microsoft is the only other one I know to use them.
TAM and SE are still the industry norms
Account technology strategist. It’s the new title of the SE only not only do they do sales stuff like usual but they’re doing TAM deliverables too
Wtf is ATS? We come up with so many damn new roles it's impossible to keep track of.
ATS=SE + TAM + Customer Success Engineer all wrapped into one underpaid package.
The only way to protect yourselves is to unionize
SE / ATS / or what ever you call them will cannibalize TAMs. If you're a TAM i'd be worried and if I were an SE I'd equally be worried.
The ATS is taking over that role
