Is this part of the strategy and corporate development layoff news from last year? Just tried to search for any news regarding this announcement and cannot find anything.
This is very Interesting News. My bet is they will rehire the same jobs at a later time in either Miami or Charleston. Another possibility is some Global Overseas Boeing office.
Maybe the business climate and the economy is a driver/cause. Perhaps, another key driver is the Cost of Living in the Puget Sound. The Cost of Living is absolutely out of control in this area.
This is just the beginning. Next will be all those lazy useless plant workers. Bye bye to that lifted truck & the boat. Back to driving Civics & Corollas. lol
Surprised it took this long. Not like any airlines except those fully pregnant with Boeing airplanes are ordering Boeing airplanes anymore. So little need for many marketing and sales people. I doubt many airplanes in their dwindling backlog will ever be delivered as they lose more money with each delivery. All the 777X orders have been DOA for years and wonder if Boeing will ever make the official announcement.
