Never seen a pu%%y like Hock Tan. Its been almost 2 years to acquisition news and no big layoff yet. All other big FANG players are on their 4th or 5th round of layoffs. And here is my Mr. Puss8y Hock Tan.

Whoever said this is a layoff notice, you are right! Since he wants everyone in the office, and if 3 to 4k is the limit, you can bet there are massive cuts to come. He once said in a coffee talk before use being acquired that he could run the company with less than 10k.

Hock started with a chainsaw, this year he'll use the machete, and then he'll use the scalpel for the next few years after that.

Sure, if you like the atomosphere of a crowded metropolitan commuter train, with insufficient bathroom resources.

You are free to leave and find an alternative lifestyle. The door this thataway.

There will be plenty of room for those that remain.

Hock should sell the entire campus.

There is plenty of space to work in the many encampments scattered around the Bay Area.

Save even more money! That is the way.

Next step is to replace everyone with AI.

The company will be even better with zero employees.

No need to panick. This is a sensible move given better returns can be had by unlocking the funds tied up in real estate. Same was done to BC classic campus.

All of you asking “where will we sit?” are missing the point. Hock is right sizing the campus for the numbers of employees that will be cut in next 12-18 months time. There will be plenty of room for those that remain.

Excellent decision by Hock.
We can fit 20 companies in this campus.
VMware management was not so smart. VMW stock su-ked in a narrow range.

I think there is enough room in the office for me to sit on Hock’s face.

VMware owns all buildings and has the right to sublease the land.
It just shows that BC plans on retaining only 1000 employees in Palo Alto. Their San Jose offices can accommodate another 1000 employees and rest terminated.

No seat? Go home.

File an NLRB comlaint: the company forces you to come to the office, but does not have adequate seating or bathrooms for you to do the job you were hired to do.

They will sell the lease, don’t make it seem like there isn’t the ability to make a real estate transaction here because of the “Stanford gods”. Standford is in it for the money as well.

He will probably sell it to companies you wish you could work for instead of the PE, milk the cow, scorch the earth business model that is the cûnt we call Hock Tan.

Don’t worry if you can “fit” in the office. The plan is for the majority is not to “fit” in VMware, so go look for another job now or enjoy the surprise of being laid off.

This is the way.

Mo money bi--hes!

It is also an forward indicator of how many employees in the PA area he will retain and whip their a-s into the office.

So consider this announcement your termination warning.

I wonder if part of the campus will be sold to the buyers of EUC. There is a significant presence of EUC on the campus. Most of the product managers and execs are there.
