Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Happy being led by sub par BofD and ELT?

Can't understand why anyone with a brain would stick around at TeraDump, waiting to be laid off by people who drives the place into the ground and being rewarded for it.

You are following people who have accomplished nothing but got to where they are from slick talking or sub performer with friends in high places.

To paraphrase ... DEI and others hired using sub standard requirements will deliver low standard results because they are judged by sub standard criteria by the same sub standard people that hired them.

So the longer you stick around, you will also be the same low life that these BofD and ELT are.

No energy because they know they are paid for stringing people along and laying them off when they su-k what's needed out of the workers to enrich themselves. They enjoy putting on the frown faces and collecting the loot, otherwise, they'd resign.

It's the lack of "get-up and go" we have in the senior leaders. There's simply no energy or enthusiasm displayed by them which lower level employees witness and it rubs off on them.

If we had a leadership team that displayed initiative, showed emotion, passion for the company then we might make progress. But frankly at the moment it's numb.

As a result, a lot of my colleagues I talk to are hanging on because they know the job market out there is tough and with Teradata on their resume, it makes it a lot harder. So they are hanging on hoping things improve, hoping the leadership teams gets moved on and a real leader comes in to inspire them. Until then, we're just hampsters on the wheel.

“Leadership” controls funding. If a visionary has an idea that the leadership either don’t understand or won’t commit to due to higher-up pressures, leadership alone is responsible for this train wreck.

"I’m sure the BOD and leadership are getting paid well to be on the sinking ship, but they did not steer that ship into the iceberg. There’s probably a lot of blame to go around, even with long time Teradata lower level managers that are stuck in the glory days of Teradata. Things change like the cloud coming about, but Teradata was just too late to the game. And those managers missed it as well, not just SB or others like him"

Haha, nice try to blame others. The staff have always worked collaboratively to transition to new technology and transform the company to meet the challenges of the market place. The leadership has changed, staffed with mo--ns, who failed miserably to lead and utilize the talents and if anything, got rid of anyone that knew anything that tried to help. The staff had plenty of cloud talents but leadership never tapped into them. They brought in their friends and families, consultants, and ditch the people that they said is their most valuable asset.

Leadership failed and all are paying the price except for them.

Looking back over the posts from the last couple of years, the vast majority of posters agree the BoD and ELT are sub-standard and driving the company to extinction while lining their own pockets. What's more to say? Honestly, it might be time to shutter this blog and avoid re-hashing the same arguments.

There may be some residual value to keeping the blog to give people a heads up on pending layoffs (more and more frequent) or job opportunities.

It's a very sad situation for a once great company.
