Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Irony

Logged into my virtual desktop today and realized - aaa it is much faster now, Citi have installed new CPUs for us. But then I saw that the CPU was running at 50+% constantly - and then checked and realized they also installed a mouse/app tracking software now :D

Post ID: @1cdk+1quEzeSJ : Not sure this is true - the .exe file is constantly using approx. 30% of my CPU time. I doubt it will only be measuring screen time. Also, like already mentioned, Verint software tracks almost everything that is happening on your machine. Why would Citi not use all of the output?

Post ID: @1sgr+1quEzeSJ : The big difference is that now many of the jobs we are hired to do are BS jobs... And for others the metric of measuring how much screen time one has is definitely not suitable/productive - example - university professor :D Anyway...

When you think about all the people who -- decades ago -- had to work in factories sitting alongside an assembly line with people constantly watching them...with performance expectations/quotas...this is really no different. It enables them to stare at you without actually be there to do so. I just hope the metrics Citi has decided to look at are better than the nonsensical metrics they've chosen for risk appetite and such.

The reports show how many hours/minutes your screen was locked for during your working day.
Keep your account ticking over to avoid this.

I was wondering when someone was going to ask about this. My dept has been using this software for 2 years now as a pilot and our "non-active" time is counted on our score card, as of September of last year. Eventually this will replace "availability" portion of our scorecards. The standard is to be under 15% each month. Again, it is currently in a pilot phase. But I can't express how maddening it is, when we have been out of work since July of last year. Not sure what they want us to do with our time when we only have enough work to cover half our shifts. Oh, and mouse jigglers don't defeat this software.

What does Verint track for employees?
Solutions such as Verint's Operations Visualizer can capture granular data into how employees are spending their time, regardless of location. This data is then transformed into key metrics to see if, directionally, time is being spent productively. It also gives managers a virtual, walk-around management capability.Oct

This is what I found.

Does Verint track keystrokes?
The solution can capture voice, video, text / digital interactions, as well as the corresponding activities taking place at employees' desktops, such as keystrokes, data entry, screen navigation, and after-call wrap-up.

Post ID: @hsc+1quEzeSJ : Not sure it is only for cyber security... The software name checks. Plus, I do not have it on my Citi laptop, only on the virtual desktop.

Not at PC but that software has been on my machine since 2022 maybe, it’s made by Verint Software. If you’re not call center, I think it’s more for “cyber security” purposes

Please share details. A colleague told me that her boss (an MD) made an unsolicited comment last week about Citi paying closer attentions to logins and such.
