Thread regarding Amazon.com layoffs

Not really suprising

Amazon has allegedly found a controversial new way to cut its workforce

An Amazon employee is accusing the company of allegedly dodging negative press associated with layoffs and skipping out on providing severance packages by “silently sacking” its employees to encourage them to leave the company rather than firing them.

Amazon has always had shady ways of getting rid of employees. When they PIPd me, and I said I'd take the severance, my manager and skip manager spent two hours convincing me to stay. They even told me to sleep on it, but HR wouldn't let them.

I was employed there last year. I noticed how deficient management was. I thought that the goal was to manage me out. I applied and I got a job in a much better company. When i talked with the L7 manager to resign, to my surprise he asked me what I wanted to stay, what I understand is rare at amazon. Therefore my conclusion is that management is flawed and unprepared to deal with flat stock prices that no longer attraft talent based on that alone.
