Thread regarding VMware layoffs

CB folks celebrating being “independent”, has BC already found a buyer?

Seeing a lot of CB colleagues celebrating being independent until BC finds a better home for them. They celebrate as it’s a done thing, have I missed any news about CB sonI can understand the reason behind this sentiment among them?

Carbon Black has been mismanaged by VMware and others for years

Who are these "others" you refer to?

There is no news here. There is nothing known in the company, or outside.

VMware mismanaged Carbon Black from the very beginning. VMware R&D had no idea how to run a security unit, but they took over all the senior positions. Security took a lower priority than bug fixes. Who cares about the new major security threat as long as we reduce our size in memory?

Carbon Black is Back is being shuffled about, and I've already seen it. Major changes being approved same-day with work beginning immediately, while before it would take committees and weeks of meetings to properly scope to the finest detail. Common sense is back and people are excited to do work, and not just nonstop planning for future work.

Carbon Black has been mismanaged by VMware and others for years. It routinely loses virus tests to Microsoft Defender. These proclamations of independence are signs of desperation. "At long last Carbon Black will be free to maybe not be terrible". Same with EUC. But these dreams of prosperity require two things: a good buyer and viable products. Good luck!
