Not sure if others are also getting this vibe, but my manager highly recommended to come in a least one Saturday a month. He said it was optional but highly recommended to get ahead on projects. Im in the US and since the BC acquisition I’m been averaging 55-60 hrs per week. Mostly created tasks by our manager. Are others seeing this in other teams?

This is not normal and is not expected within Broadcom. I daresay that if there was no direct reason to crunch work, even Hock would disapprove.
Slow news day
Hocking Saturday ! yay !
Next up for VMware By Broadcom: Branding Revamp! We will now be called: INITECH
Is your manager also working on the weekend, in office?
Make sure to bring your children and dog with you when you come into the office. As this is the new work / life balance!
Did they watch Office Space ?
Sod that, do your hours then stop.
Yeah. so happy news. I will move out of my 1 bd apt and bring the wifey and kiddy to office. we will eat, sleep, play, work there.
remember, the first to be laid off, is not team that are doing nothing, but team that deliver feature that is proved useless
Just be cautious
Most people are still on vacation, or just come to office for lunch...
This is not normal. It sounds like your manager is trying to look good for themself.

I haven’t heard of this from anyone. If it is indeed true, it’s your manager who is playing some games
I call this BS.
Man, this post makes me want to cry
