I know most companies does background check for Employees. Citi also does it with basic criminal checks and thumb printing.

because I remember lots of fake Education profiles are found

As someone who converted a decade ago, yes. Full background check. Even took fingerprints again ( as if they changed since they took them 2yrs prior?). Know your dates, don’t lie about getting laid off vs fired or let go. Be honest, you’ll be fine.
LOL I saw my background check they didn’t go back past 10 years. Only verified my Grad degree and completely missed an unfortunate encounter with the po po from 2008 (po po got their p-e p-e slapped by a judge….
