Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Merger of Disaster

I’m a BBT at heart until I die. This was/is the absolute worst thing I have ever experienced. I have never been on medication for anxiety and depression. Truist has NO MORALS. They don’t give a dog **** about their employees or customers. All they good for is cutting people and lateral moves. It’s sad job security went out the door when they took all the BBT signs off the buildings. I pray EVERYDAY for a job change. Truist say they care about mental health HOW SO when they are the cause of my deteriorating mental health.

Yes, people trying to make sense of the direction of their livelihoods and lifelong careers… aka losers and whiners.
Get a life- You’re dipsh*t who finds enjoyment from kicking people when they’re down.

“I just want to know where you remaining hBBT folks that are just now figuring out that this merger is a disaster have been hiding all these years?? My co-workers and I knew the day the merger was announced that it was a bad idea, and we made plans immediately to move on. How can anyone with even half a brain still be working there? You're like those WWII Japanese soldiers who refused to surrender and wasted 40-50 years of their lives living in caves and jungle hideouts because of some twisted concept of loyalty. Give it up already.“

Truist is a disaster making bud baker look good. Worst culture I have ever seen. Great for loans but that’s it.

BB&T teammates don’t mind change at all. But we kind sh*t change. Huge difference. Please, tell me what good change has come from the merger.

@kss+1qpGvIYo STI had 3 people for each person at BB&T. We did far more with less than the overpaid under worked STIs.

Being held accountable. We were the acquirer you dolt. We had to change because two old white guys formed a bromance over a couple of weeks. Mr Magoo saw this merger was never a good idea and the number one reason is the Atlanta little brother complex of a bunch of people who aren’t good enough for New York but want to be big time business people so they spew out buzzwords and make big sweeping changes that are only solutions in search of a problem.

Personally had a bad feeling about the merger from the start. The absolute worst part is that BB&T on paper bought SunTrust, but in reality it's the complete opposite.

My original tagline was "We're Truist, we spend money now." After the old BB&T penny pinching went out the window. Well at least penny pinching kept people employed.

HTF Uncle Billy still has a job is beyond me. He has done nothing but drive our efficiency ratio up and the stock price down.

I miss Kelly and Daryl. They knew how to run a bank. Bill and his cronies don't, period.

It really says a lot that Kelly was forced to take a pay raise after the merger because all of the hSTI execs made more than him.

BB&T was lured in by a really attractive partner but all they got was an STI.

It's kinda funny watching BB&T'ers struggle with suddenly being held accountable and being asked to change. Neither was part of your culture, and now failure ensues.

He knew, and now you do too.

@gyg+1qpGvIYo I find it hard to believe that all banks su-k when I worked for a small bank that would take us on an annual 2-day getaway (during the week mind you, not weekend) to a 5-star resort. All ~400 employees at this small institution invited.. not just a ~presidents club~ thing.
We would also have an annual client dinners/meet and greet, company cars for low-ish level teammates, fuel card, etc. Could expense almost any meal when we were out on the road (whether with a client or not). Loyalty was rewarded. Man, why did I not stay there! lol.
Not all financial institutions/banks 'fake' it. Some at least put in an honest effort.

Banks are full of the worst human beings. They don't care.

BB&T at least pretended to care even if they didn't. Truist just says FU. i use to be proud to say that i worked for BB&T, now after over 17 years Truist no longer needs me.

In b4 someone says "no banks care, DUDE. Get used to it." False. This place is about 1000x more dumpster fire than the others I've worked for. Waiting patiently and doing the minimum in hopes of RIF.
