Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

They'll make us wait

I'm convinced that instead of having layoffs in January, the leadership will make us wait to make sure more people quit. The fewer people are left to lay off, the more Citi saves in severance costs. And that means bigger bonuses for those at the top, which we all know is the most important thing everything revolves around.

Well now we see why Citi is in the place it’s in.

Old dinosaurs mad at the truth. I find that to be a common theme too. Unable to take feedback or grow or listen to what’s correct.

Post ID: @ammq+1qnJRhmB Just because you're younger or young does NOT mean that you or your generation can fix Destitute and Dysfunctional Citi. What you posted is age discrimination. There's institutional knowledge and institutional memory that only the "dinosaurs" as you called them have that can help and fix Citi. Also, Not all of Citi's "dinosaurs" have No university degree. Actually, most of them have at least a Bachelors Degree. Again, your comments and sentiments are discriminatory.

Citi has no intention of becoming a better bank. They are cutting younger people and/or those with less years of service in order to save on severance while keeping the dinosaurs who have no innovation no degrees and no experience other than the same old tired and outdated systems Citi has always had. Jane isn’t fixing anything or making Citi better. They are cutting the people who can actually bring change in favor of keeping the same old garbage that put Citi in the place its in.

Make Citi pay you WARN Money and severance because doing this hurts Citi including but Not limited to lowering Citi's stock price. Also, as another poster said you can NOT file a claim for unemployment insurance benefits if you quit voluntarily. Let Citi cut off the umbilical cord and sh00t itself in its Fvcken Foot!

So then do the OPPOSITE. Do NOT quit voluntarily and make Citi pay you WARN Money and severance because doing this hurts Citi. If Citi throws you off the Layoff cliff, pull Citi down with you.

the plan is to make every one wait so that they’ll be on edge and to make any perf rewards sparse so as to encourage people to leave on their own. All so that they can get out of paying severance. Its like page 2 in the HR playbook on how to minimize any employee perk or benefit so that Jane can give herself yet another well deserved raise for her hard work, you know, that got us here in the first place.

Managers lack of respect for employees is one of the main reasons for Citi’s failure. Many managers act like they are above everyone else or treat their teams with disdain. They ignore IMs or emails, or take 1 week to respond. They don’t communicate with teams. They schedule meetings and fail to show up without providing cancellation or any explanation. Toxic environment.

I mean, if you can afford the wait, both financially and mentally, why not. If both sides keep waiting, it will just become everyday working life.
