Thread regarding Optum layoffs

NaviHealth integration

Has anyone heard any news about the integration of NaviHealth into Optum? They are finalizing it as of January 2024 (now) and our last launch of states is in May 2024. When NaviHealth was initially bought by Optum, a lot of people left because benefits were really slashed and I heard there have been rounds of layoffs at Optum as some people were brought over to NaviHealth. I'm wondering how full integration will affect jobs?

There are postings on the Optum thread regarding NaviHealth that July is the next date where people get laid off. Blue Cross isn’t renewing and their contract ends September so they are going to be trying to eliminate a lot of jobs in the meantime. There just would not be enough to do. Anyone know what positions are eligible for severance and if they give us a severance package can we still apply for unemployment?

What? They may not get the United Health contract??? No way??? That is would be the nail in the coffin for sure. Is there anyone that has some decency in upper or middle management know this and share whether or not this is true?

I don’t know of anything concrete, but I can also see a lot of preservice and SICC get laid off. If insurances aren’t renewing, there will be less work. I even saw that it was questionable if navi would get the UHC contract? Makes sense as optum has their own reviewers. They don’t necessarily need navi employees to do it. Dumpster fire all around.

It’s official. Blue Cross is NOT renewing with NaviHealth. I keep hearing two dates, July and September with September being the official line management is telling us. I asked if they will cut any more staff and got the same old empty double talk that our management is so good at. I am pretty sure they are going to cut a lot more middle management, preservice roles, SICC’s, Learning & Development etc. I just don’t see how they won’t let a lot go. What positions do you think are the safest? Also, how are they going to cut? Like is it based on seniority, performance, etc? A bunch of upper management were cut but they seemed like dead weight anyway so I can’t use it as to how they get rid of people. Also does anyone know if Humana is also not renewing? I can’t find anything concrete on that.

They employed some cut throat people at NaviHealth. They actual employed therapists, believe it or not, who would cut nursing home days for Blue Cross members. So don’t feel so bad if they dissolve that department. Tell your loved ones that if they have Blue Cross Medicare then ask if NaviHealth still manages them. Horrible company!

Everyone at Navihealth is waiting for the day we're all let go and preparing for it if you're smart. The writing is on the wall. Optum is horribly run and the secrets are horrendous. Living on the edge daily is horrible

My company prospero/landmark was fully integrated Sept 2023 and still feeling effects. I don't know of any major layoffs but I know they are focusing on making us all (Navi included) more one Optum Home and Community and not so siloed and I am sure there is overlap in what a lot of us do and won't need 3 departments doing the same thing.

Honestly couldn't have happened to a more worthy company. Navihealth blew.

Trust me it’s gonna su-k. Using 10+ year old software. Outdated and unethical claims processes and the typical employee mistreatment. I respectfully tell you to start looking for employment elsewhere and to prepare your B-hole for the Optum Rapture.
