Is this just a site for people to make up layoff rumors to try and get some information? Nothing here seems credible.

I get the vibe of this website, i mean it is called thelayoff. And I'm sure things will change in the new fiscal year, happens to some degree every year. But i rarely see anything concrete leak. Usually its just sky is falling rumors.
We can spell bicycle, that’s at least a for sure. Call it fear mongering if you want, but it’s a matter of when.. not if.. on the cuts.
I think there are a lot of rumors with truths built in and gut feelings in others. It’s an anonymous site for a reason, but there will be layoffs and store closures. People can only share so much information on this.
Its mostly just bitter current and ex employees.
Once in a while there is someone with some good information.
It depends. There has been a good amount of information on here that was correct about changes and job cuts. In 2020, it was posted on here first of how the stores were restructured and the creation of positions of MBA, etc..
Idk..but when MTMs and Visual Managers were cut , I heard it hear first. So there's definitely a level of credibility. This time though I hear no definite answers. I highly doubt we will know anything this week. It will probably be towards the end of January. We'll see.
There is validity to the rumors. The information is obviously extremely sensitive, which means not many know the full story. You will have speculation mixed with fact in all of these pages, but stores will be closing and jobs will be cut.
I’m not talking about the buy outs
I’m talking about the layoff rumors starting on Tuesday of this week.
Yes I work for Macys but all these crazy lay off posts are all over the place. Wondering if there is any truth to it and how scared I should be for this week.
The buy out is not rumors, it was all over the national news.
Do you work for Macy's? Obviously you don't. There are credible posts here. We are sharing our concerns and fears. Go troll else where.
I've checked in here for a few years now. There are kernels of truth to mayyyyybe 10% of what is posted here.
That said, I won't be surprised if we are looking at our most transformative time since Mar/April 2020.
Yeah.
