Does any one know if small format locations are going forward considering all the upcoming changes?

Plan is for 10-12 this year
One is confirmed as being scheduled for South NJ near April time frame. I haven’t heard about other regions unfortunately but other ones are being planned according to my source.
The small format is the future vision. This will first replace locations that closed in bigger markets, and then anywhere where growth is seen Closed neighborhood doors.
We have 2 slated to open this year in my Division.
Small format, aka market place stores should be pretty safe. Looks like there are still plans to expand these into 2024. Stores that aren’t profitable and additionally are not meeting metrics would likely see a reduction in staff from colleague to people leader, but no clue about store closings. Should be hearing something Wednesday since inventory starts end of next week. Stores that are closing find out before inventory so they can go into liquidation.
From what I know that is still the vision with the plan to open new small format doors. We have to keep in mind that Tony’s vision and corporate strategy will take place of Polaris, which leaves us with a lot of unknowns.
Who knows. I think small format and online will be the direction, and the top 150 growth doors. Everything else will be shuttered.
