My manager just told that more layoffs were coming in Dec. I’m out of here.
200+ employees at Qualcomm were affected by the reduction. Even more on a global basis.

Layoffs are happening right now at Qualcomm.
Lay offs happening today, 9/10/2024.
Apple had at least four layoffs in 2024. No company is prone to layoffs. Apple had about same number of laid off employees as that of last Qualcomm layoff. Having said this, I also reiterate that Qualcomm management has been incompetent to layoff productive resources while the slackers and dual job/business resources stays on.

Qs culture is too toxic. Real talent ppl are pushed out by long time fools, no way to compete with Apple huawei or any other company in the long term. Gsoc all fools bundled together and play with toys tools from e*a and even accuracy could not guarantee yet dreaming to compete no way. Identify and Let all bundled fools out changing management is the only way to go.

Reorganized always happen in January. That doesn’t mean there will be a RIF. If there are jobs cut, it will be people who didn’t score well in the review.
Yes, there is a rumor more incompetent a--kissers will be promoted to management where they can do more damage. Shh, don't tell anyone.
Qualcomm is losing market silicon share to MediaTek, Apple, and Huawei, and its diversification efforts beyond smartphones are limited. The forays into other areas (AI/compute) are desperate attempts, too little and too late and not going to end well. Its in a slow moving wreck thats going to eject lots of riders over time.
