What are your thoughts about potential Quest Diagnostics layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

There are some people who were offered voluntary retirement or voluntary separation, based on years of service, age, so on. This was within IT.

I would say it’s highly likely. The new CEO has been somewhat knee jerk in his decision making and joined the bandwagon of CEOs who viewed the leveling out of revenue after the anomalous profits of 2020 and 2021 as overall losses in profitability instead of looking at a 2019-2022-2023 trend. (a lot of companies made large profit jumps in these years due to Covid workforce downsizing and increased demand) The past two Januaries have brought noticeable workforce reductions and outsourcing in an attempt to prolong the profit gains that occurred during Covid and this year is unlikely to be any different.
