I got laid off recently without notice, without cause, this is injustice. Rubbish management, they don't have orders and they kept hiring people and eventually laid off people, managers and directors want to save their jobs, people don't want to do their jobs, and no one is serious towards their responsibilities, this is pity. In my opinion, these people should be fired first any doing analysis between who doesn't work, rather than people who work with sincerity. Managers should be fired that that of loyal employee who even don't do their jobs

John Lyndsay would be a great addition to the layoff list along with several other Directors in CBS IT. That is one business unit full of major waste and very poor management. Endless meetings providing no value. Too much reliance on H1B workers to perform manager's duties.

Directors reporting to directors! Everybody wants to direct or manage, nobody wants to do the work!

Leave while you can or wait for the RIF and hopefully get a severance. Put 10+ years, RIF'd in 2020, was sad at first, but current salary would take me 20 more years at CMI to achieve.

Announced yesterday, they are flattening the org chart, taking out layers of management and reducing dotted line reporting significantly

I would just leave. Cummins has you ratholed in Columbus with nice wages (not nice literally everywhere else) in a cr-ppy town in a cr-ppy state. Leave, go find a job in a better state where you aren't some line on HR's spreadsheet.

Now it is all 1 employee doing 3-4 people work. Used to be good company before. It is digging it's own grave.

Hiring is frozen for certain comp classes and salaried non-exempt/hourly until end of Q1. Leadership will evaluate whether that will extend. Some capital investments are paused too.

I feel folks at Cummins who have been laid off before, are in actually better career positions than the long timers.

Gotta pay for that EPA fine somehow. I expect them to ride it out until they have to make year end numbers look good for the Wall Street bros. Look for around August for the hammer to drop.

Company is taking interesting measures to save money. It has just decided to lower the US merit rate from 3.5 percent to 3.25 percent which across the company will have a marginal cost savings. Also are eliminating differentiation of performance so if you meet expectations you only can get a 3.25. If you exceed you can only get a 4.39. Far exceeds is 6.5. No in between scores to distinguish further performance. Su-ks that the company has made more money then ever this year but is deciding to squeeze money out of employees paychecks in a time where living costs have skyrocketed. Obviously a sign of the upcoming layoffs.

How is layoff dependent of Dei/ esg score ?
There will definitely be more in first half of 2024 as they didn’t meet targets from voluntary actions.
