If the economy turns around, do you anticipate any Lockheed Martin layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

Were there layoffs in early May? If so, how many? Which department?
Big layoff coming at LM Space in multiple locations (e.g. Sunnyvale, Littleton, Valley Forge). The VP of this business unit has been talking about 6% layoffs taking place in 2024, and a wave of several hundred will be laid off on May 2, with more coming later in the year. Anyone without program or IRAD/CRAD funding reaching out into Q4 is at risk, so this current wave will eliminate a lot of the technical talent which is on "soft money" or internal funding.
They will keep the horrible (many layers) of management and lay off the technical talent - as ususal.
OMG! I remember the rumors about the troops program and how it got used by one of our VPs as her personal s-xcapades back in the day. It’s wild that the company fought against doing the right thing by the employee for over 15 years.
“Celebration of Ethics” indeed, lol.
The toxic Canadian operations are just paper-pushers and project administration minions; they don't actually do any engineering in Canada. Very high turnover and a career dead-end.
Let me axe you a question. If Lockheed follows through with layoffs what skills will likely be cut? Or is this likely a ruse and Lockheed is going after the older experienced guys making good wages to layoff. That's what I think is going to go down.
[Reuters] Exclusive: Lockheed Martin to cut 1% of its jobs in cost-cutting push
Jan 26 (Reuters) - Lockheed Martin (LMT.N), will cut 1% of its jobs over the course of the year in a bid to cut costs and streamline operations, a company spokesperson said on Friday.

The Brown vs. Lockheed case was a wild read!
I’d wondered what happened to the “Letters to the Troops” (I think that’s what it was called) campaign. It was such a big thing on our campus and then it disappeared without a trace, and no one was talking about what happened or why it stopped so abruptly.
And that LM appealed the decision after being obviously caught red-handed is just something else. Talk about a lack of ethics.
I’ll be remembering this anytime I hear about the company’s ethics in the future. Hey definitely don’t seem to practice what they preach.
I thought the Lockheed/Walmart spiel was a bit “fake news”.
It’s not, and wow! They actually used a tool designed for the IC on American citizens just trying to form a union within their company.
That’s like, one of the most un-American things a company can do to its workers, and LM was a big part of it.
Thanks to whomever shared that bit of info. I found a link or two from a reputable site for those who want to check it out.

I had to laugh at the comment about deleting the ethics and HR emails.
Especially since the company intentionally dragged out a lawsuit where they got absolutely smacked around in court for hiding evidence, and using their ethics hotline and HR dept to protect a VP that was abusing a program designed to support American Troops (turned it into their personal Tinder), and then sat back and watched that VP te--orize the employee that called the “anonymous” ethics hotline. Turns out HR immediately outed the employee.
Brown v. Lockheed Martin is the case (for those who are interested).
I enjoy reminding HR about this story because it took away any trust they were trying to build. Because they don’t deserve any.
It’s kind of like how Lockheed used LM Wisdom (an Intel gathering tool that we designed for our IC customers) on behalf of Walmart so that they could spy on their employees to figure out which ones might be trying to organize a union. Google it, because the story is wilder than I ever thought possible.
Sorry for the tangent. I’m just happy to see that others realize that HR and leadership are the complete opposite of what the company espouses itself to be.
Is Littleton, Colorado site going to get hit? I work there. I am not up with current events because I stopped reading Lockheed Leadership emails over three years ago.
I no longer read Leadership emails or emails from Lockheed's Ethic Department or any Lockheed HR people's emails. I used to ignore my Lockheed Manager's emails too, but then they would come over to my desk to annoy me about replying to their email. I set up my Outlook to automatically delete any emails I receive from these knuckleheads at Lockheed.
Massive if Artemis is cancelled
Space is laying off lots of people. They told us in December it was gonna be a 15% reduction, but I just lost over half my team this week, and they say even more layoffs are coming in March
Any idea how many or which location?
Most likely govt contract funding situation is not good right now
Layoffs confirmed coming in space.
