They are forcing a back to office at Raytheon in the hopes that remote workers will quit to avoid layoffs. Makes me angry.

They are closing the expressway site and moving them to McKinney. Probably why there are quite a few empty desks right now

Raytheon (recently rebranded as RTX) laid off thousands on Feb 5th, 2024 with more to come. It's not a rumor, it's a fact.

RTX culture & management sounds like Honeywell's...toxic!
& I'm in the process of making the jump to RTX but after reading post, I'll have to seriously reconsider. Thou small businesses don't pay as well. Applied for Sr. Principal Engineer.

They can get rid of older workers without age discrimination as long as they get rid of a younger worker with the same job title. The older ones should be making more than the younger worker so they are savo g money twice.

They can't get rid of people over 45 en masse without an age discrimination lawsuit. They tried that with Raytheon in Santa Barbara (circa 2011?) and got into a class action lawsuit. Everyone else not doing missile production is fair game.

Those with ambition and marketable skills best be on their way ASAP. Those 50 or older are already on borrowed time.

Very Simple.

RTX leadership is following the GE Jack Welch philosophy to raise the stock value.

So the next several years, it will be fourth quarter trimming, since it lines up with March April review process.

Rank em, and cut from the knees$$$$

So it will be constant re-org, re-alignment, and sell building, consolidate location etc etc. Because that way you don't layoff people, who claim the position is not needed.

Why do you think the CEO is a lawyer!!!

There is panacea to this problem. The smart/talented engineers, you know who they are, just like a union, must leave the company. They will doing a favor to fellow engineers. Look, after college it takes 20 years to create few engineers who can make things happen, so new grad will only be there to push excel sheets, and Microsoft word

When engineering Talent walks, the company looses innovation, products, quality etc etc. The shell of people behind will sink the company.

Start walking !

Building and site eliminations make sense. For example El Segundo has alot of space so move Fullerton and goleta there to consolidate and get rid of those sites to save money.

2024 Will continue with layoffs and Buildings eliminations. After merger. Former United Technologies Leadership is going to continue targeting Raytheon's Holdings. With layoffs and Buildings eliminations.

What's up with the RTX McKinney site? So many empty cubes and offices. Many of them have packed boxes with "destination" paper signs on top of the desks. Are they preparing for that site to be sold off?
