Layoffs are coming in AZ.
More layoffs are coming. All NGC is slowing down hiring. Not replacing people that are leaving so they will not layoff people but will shrunk through attrition.
This is just the beginning!
1000 layoff/RIFs in work at SSSD southbay Northrop - falsely advertised as redeployments - total spin.
I used to work at NGC before. In one year, NGC hired outside head hunters to acquire a massive number of people in anticipation of winning a huge contract because they couldn't find the people themselves fast enough. When DoD awarded the contract to someone else, NGC laid off and fired a lot of people overnight.
I am not surprised and was worried since last year’s when They hired so many young college students and suddenly promoted them to managers in Space program.
Space Launch vehicles is preparing to lay off several engineers. Do not know the number yet.
Space Propulsion systems and SDS are in hiring freeze, jobs posted are not filled as they are reorganizing to do cuts and save $200 millions this year which means layoffs on the ways.
Space SSSD is preparing for cuts as the other Divisions.
Be prepared for some interesting times ahead.
There’s always talk about one when the industry is not doing too well. I think for the AS sector for one to happen a major adjustment in a few programs would have to happen. By this I’m talking about the government reducing the amount of orders for aircraft such was the case with the B2 bomber.
Rumor on the street is that Space Park just lost a major program. Possibly impacting 600 folks there.
We are not doing well financially and we might have layoffs and Space ( Propulsions and SLS) and Aeronautics Sectors.
Pressure is really high at this moment. It is a quiet time before the storm.
As long as there's war and chip money, we'll thrive.
