Continued poor performance in districts and regions. Company could be more profitable if we didn't have cr-ppy district management holding onto poor performing store managers. Unbelievable that you go from district to district and one sm would get fired compared to another based on how we manage. Regional directors should be ashamed walking a store and thinking it's great when visual and operational standards are mediocre. Coming from manager that can fix any store in the company and run any district in the company. Julie and lauren should be ashamed of how females are treated too. Maybe we should evaluate the actual ratio of sm's m/f in a district, people going to sales summits and talent ratings and who is in what positions. Not the diverse or great culture you'd hope for. Lay off the regional staff, story times a joke, actually drive sales with out incentives to do your job!

Terminating employees for protecting themselves from aggressive shoplifters, needs to stop at Di-ks and all retail chains. These people are not customers they are theives that attack with fists, sp-t or anything they can get their hands on and we just have to take it in fear of losing our jobs, we are being threatened with knives just saying hello and following the 10 foot rule. Some things need to change with companies policies when it comes down to our lives or theirs, We also can afford a more police or security presence, so to not have to deal with shoplifters that are aggressive.
Anyway I see some lawsuits in the very near future. ## Protect Associates ## Not the Shoplifters ## Di-ks

I worked FT for Di-k's from May 1996 - October 2002, PT until February 2005.

Things seem to have in the direction I feared back then when they cooked the books to go public in 2002. Part of that was redefining FT for keeping benefits to 30 hours a week, then cutting payroll. I had been getting 45 - 50 hours a week.

I got a good FT job at Lowe's in 2002, just retired from there after a little over 21 years. Gladly so, as they are having "reorganization" pains.

I hope that's the case too. It'll be field employees and regional staff to go if they realign. Senior directors are making the decisions.. no district or regional staff are safe unless they're a kiss a-s and spend most of their time posting cute pictures on LinkedIn to make it look like they're doing their job. Hope they realized the id--ts they kept in place going into Q4, maybe weren't the best choice. Maybe hold people accountable for performance and stop making excuses as to why it's okay. Shouldn't have to incentivise a bonus kicker to get your high payed leadership to drive sales.

I hope so and I hope it’s all the managers and HR who caused the problems that led to everyone else getting fired.
