How likely is that there will be Burlington Stores layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

Not surprised about anything with that awful place. I worked there a short period of time and it was a disaster from day one. Constant communication about how things were so great, but ran operations so lean that there was no work life balance. It’s a shame because there were some great employees who just didn’t know any better. Then there were others who were absolutely a nightmare. Meanwhile ANYONE in corporate thought things were great. I worked in retail for years and know what great talent looks like, guess what the corporate folks were not great - but they weren’t nearly as lean as in the regions and stores. So yes, life probably WAS good. Don’t get me started about territory leadership, they may as well have been corporate employees- they’d descend upon stores and preach the ideal with no real connection to leadership. A territory SVP who had a wife in talent acquisition - in the same territory, so within the sphere of influence but yeah, that’s OK because of the level. Meanwhile, that particular TA person had no idea what good talent was an underpaid people as a matter of course. Meanwhile if you could finally get her on the phone, she was picking up the kids or running errands during the workday because her husband was working and traveling. And he, was a nightmare … thought he knew better than employees in the stores who actually knew what was happening. Glad I’m no longer there and making 6 times as much as a store manager elsewhere!
My store just hired 2 new ones this month?
Burlington is now laying off assistant store managers starting with the smaller stores as of February 2024 they're being offered to step down with a huge pay cut or opt out with a small severance package
