You losers were wrong. It’s May ‘24 already and the stores haven’t laid anyone off!
After 16 years I was forced to quit
Age is 78
First, SM said I had to work weekends
When that did not make me quit
Then she said I had to work 4 hr days
That did it
She knew that I live 64 miles from Lowes
So I am gone
Should have quit long ago
My 1040 for 2023 showed
Total income of $225,000
I married a smart girl and put her thru
9 yrs of college to be a doctor!!!
I sleep much better now

Has anyone heard about the Receiving associates being cut with their jobs being absorbed by the Internet Fulfillment associates under the MSTs? I just heard about it today.
Thoughts? Not sure how that would really work
Layoffs impacting tech. Transportation Product Managers confirmed. Project Selling Product confirmed. LEAP Scrum Masters confirmed. Sr Managers and Directors reported. Lead Product Managers confirmed. Tenure ranges, including 10+ years. Rumored more to come.
The entire ITSD is being laid off and converting to support by India.
What about the asm changes?

Lowe's is planning to outsource all contact center roles. They have already started some of the layoffs.
There have been lowes layoffs today.
Asm roll eliminating some positions in stores. Back end clerk elimination
Delivery drivers flatbed trucks going third party
Some specialists will be eliminated this year
Expect to see MST expanded

How can we not expect to see change. I just watched 6-8 red vests blitz ice melter for 8 plus hours. 2 outside lawn and garden people with nothing to do should be more than enough to fill in rock salt . I just don’t understand.
What changes are going to happen in February?
My last day was officially 5 January, I retired.
Last day I worked was 15 December, but it took them 3 weeks to get out of the system.
Right decision, no regrets after a little over 21 years.
Did get the vacation/holiday hours payoff today.
All store meetings are going to be held in February, Big changes, going to be some very upset people.
Department supervisor and head cashier positions being eliminated and replaced with team lead positions that will be paid the same as or slightly more than current head cashier position. The team leaders are going to need to be very flexible and be able to operate throughout the store.
All of the major retailers are going to be reducing hours and eliminating full time positions for better payroll flexibility and cutting medical insurance expenses.
Back end clerk to go away. Will be run with Dept Supervisor, 1 receiver and 1 LTL.
Flooring ,Millwork Specialist being phased out . All install sales will be handled by Central Selling . Current Specialists will have to apply for CSA position in store or apply to Central Selling position.
FT is gone.
Managers probably getting a big bonus Thursday for doing such a great job of cutting everyone’s hours.
Nothing will happen Thursday Marvin and company still on break trying to decide between cutting 15000 or 25000 jobs just be patient

Melvin will increase his earnings and cut store level employees. He and Little Joe will milk every penny they can, for as long as they can. Lowes will never catch or beat HD’s stock price. Nothing new…
