Do you predict that there will be ON Semiconductor layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

Unfortunately, the fab onsemi sold in Oudenaarde, Belgium, in 2022 has filed for bankruptcy. BelGaN, which took over the site, had plans to innovate with gallium nitride technologies. However, despite efforts to secure additional funding, they were unable to sustain operations. This situation is challenging for the 440 BelGaN employees now facing uncertainty. This outcome is regrettable for the ex-onsemi(whose employment got transfered in 2022 to BelGaN due to the divestation) employees affected. Still, it's important to note that this situation is unrelated to onsemi, which has moved forward with its strategic plans.

what about mtp
Was offered a very generous "severance package" worth a weekly salary per year of service. What a joke.
Pocatello site closed. 9/27/24 is last day of operations for Pocatello, Idaho test floor and test engineering. It's a far cry from "Core center" in March 2023 to closed now. Onsemi leadership brags about the hundreds of millions of dollars in products they have walked away from, they keep ending projects and laying off people. But, they have an Indy car.

Maine is closing.
Pocatello, Maine, and Oudenaarde have All Hands scheduled for tomorrow. Good luck everyone!
Announcement is tomorrow for Pocatello
Any info on EU layoffs?
Mostly Maine and Pocatello in the US. My understanding is less than 200 in the US.
To the last comment: any more info?! Where/who/how many?
Notifications are next week.
Pocatello and Maine are going to be hit hard.
They are working on a RIF right now. 100% confirmed.
Mandatory leave periods in OSPI. Eyes up everyone!
More are coming in Q2. But, sure, send the company wide Indy Car brag again. No one will notice.
Definitely. Mostly manufacturing related I’m sure.
Then mid-2024 and into 2025 I’m sure things will pick back up again. Market-wide
I've heard of more coming. Gresham specifically.
