Thread regarding NCR Corp. layoffs

Sleazy way to do layoffs after the beginning of the year

So now NCR has split, they plan to do layoffs after January, but get this they were going to base it off of performance, and now people who have never had performance issues are suddenly being demoted two levels to prepare for the layoff. Major sleazeball.

Contractors are chomping at the bit to take on more work, as the work becomes more d-mb work, the contracting is easier, for the retail side for sure

Plenty of independent contractors willing to scoop up service calls, Field Nation will be doing more then Walmart PM assists soon.

To the people asking who will take over service, it is going to be the stores themselves, the big cash register days are over, most will move to whole unit swaps, unit will be mailed in ready to go with a return label to ship back. Actual service technician jobs will become greatly reduced, Home Depot and Lowes implemented it years ago, as retail buys new equipment, they would be fools not to follow. This model leads to layoffs and trying to get rid of people in un-ethical ways.

Not to sure what other options big retailers have such as Walmart, Sobeys, Starbucks etc for service. Unless they start bringing back service in house. IBM got out of the service business. Toshiba has failed miserably at it. The only one left I can think of is HPE

In addition to Macys potentially not renewing what other accounts have been lost on both sides of this Atleos Voyix mess?

Anyone know if they renewed the Sobey's contract in Canada? No one seems to know

This company does have poor leadership and acts by the seat of its pants all the time. I report to 2 TMs not just 1 now in Voyix. Formerly part of one region but now 4 areas have been combined into one huge area.
Very reliable source indicated that the Macys account has not been officially renewed yet and has 1 month to go. I heard they are confident it will renew but no guarantee. Other accounts are up for renewal also but Voyix mostly cares about Walmart, Starbucks etc. If anyone hears different concerning Macys please comment back

It’s a clear sign of poor company leadership. The laziest way to affect the bottom line. Why not improve the products, business plans, and pricing structure? Lazy = low intelligence.
“Digital first” is their next target. A prep to sell off that leg. contractors are first...
Digital banking will lead it.

Demotion for sure, starts when they want to get you. They will micro manage everything. Write down all things they can use Starts when they themselves did not listen when issues were happening, ping ponging back and forth it is ok things will go wrong. US jobs will go for sure.

Zero loyalty or even ethics, the new companies simply don’t care about their employees.

Demote so they get less severance pay. Cheap "illegitimate sons of unwed mothers".

Are there specific groups are targeted? I haven’t heard anything about this including demotions.

I agree no one in USA is safe at NCR.

When is this supposed to happen? I have heard of the demotions and it is complete cr-p!

Correct and these sudden “performance issues” are just made up. I have some of the best people in my group that got a demotion and now I am 100% sure they will be laid off.

If you think all is well and your job is safe, you are not paying attention and are in complete denial, the plan is for a software company with nearly all outsourced employees, and eliminating service by getting out of the service industry just like IBM did. People may still have jobs in service, but it’s not going to be with NCR
