Search giant Google is planning to reorganise a large part of its 30,000-strong ad sales unit as a result of the company's recent advances in artificial intelligence, according to a report by The Information. Notably, Google laid off around 12,000 employees earlier this year, making it the biggest job cut in the company's history.

While I don't necessarily believe this particular article to be true ot noy, I've been preparing for such a possibility regardless. Unfortunately, I must express my concern that upcomingmass layoffs seem inevitable.

Advice: bail out now, before 30,000 people go to the exits.
I left hi-tech and went to the public sector, where the grass is indeed greener. Yes, public sector has lower salaries, but they often offer a pension, job security, no overtime.
Also, the public sector is helping society.
