Wayfair CEO calls for long hours and work-life integration

“Winning requires hard work. I believe that most of us, being ambitious individuals, find fulfilment in the joy of seeing our efforts materialise into tangible results,” Shah said in the note. “Working long hours, being responsive, blending work and life, is not anything to shy away from. There is not a lot of history of laziness being rewarded with success.”

We are getting customers texting and chatting in about his comments. Wayfair turned off the comments on Facebook, because there were people talking about it there too. He’s out of touch. And cares more about filling his pockets. Slavery was ended a long time ago apparently he didn’t the memo and this place isn’t worth anyone’s sanity. We can’t speak up, we risk getting fired. Mangers have tried to push his statements under the rug. Everyone making any waves about it just says unionize, but I guarantee the person that starts that process with be fired immediately. I have never worked for a company where you can’t speak to grievances and there is no recourse for situations such as these.
