It's a matter of when, not if, but we know layoffs are coming. I'm curious where people are applying. I'm not finding any retailers that are not currently having major issues that are not different to ours. I don't want to end up in a similar situation in a few months when I change my job, but there don't seem to be many available choices. This has been stressing me out and I can't really afford that with my health being the way it is.

This was always a terrible time of the year for me when I was at Macy's. After the stress of holidays you had the stress of inventory then the stress of if your store was closing and then to top it off you had the stress of if you were going to make the cut or not.
My advice is you get out of there no matter what happens. Not saying it's all sunshine and rainbows on the other side but you deserve better than dealing with this cr-p every year. Nobody deserves it.
All depends on what skills you have and how you can market them. Follow Adam Karpiak on LinkedIn or Twitter for good advice
What State are you in? If you want to remain in retail, try Dillards. Although, usually in January hiring is slim, depending on your skill, position, etc. Try Amazon as well.
