A BD employee in SLC was informed their last day at BD would be Jan. 2nd of 2024. They were also given info that plants/offices have or will have mass layoffs worldwide. This coming from a current employee that knows this person well. As an ex employee, I trust both the source and the unfortunate person that got the notice. There was no mention of what was meant by "mass", but rather than worry about it, suggest preparing by getting serious about finding other employer.

I'm expecting lay off in PI myself. Our site was do quiet it last while it definitely doesn't look good.
It would not surprise me if PI is getting targeted for a layoff in Jan.
Nothing verified just how leadership has been acting the past couple months and shifts in projects and budgets.
Could be nothing or could be warnings of what is coming.
