Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

UP has zero ethics or moral compass

In case you ever thought The How Matters to UP, I can prove that it does not.

General Managers and Superintendents receive copies of every Safety Hotline, Values Line and employee survey submitted with employee names. They are told to “handle the situation”.

My best advice is to record everything and keep detailed records. The company policy does not supersede your right to protect yourself from illegal actions and to defend your civil rights.

The company lies and covers up for the chosen few, no matter how unethical or illegal their actions may be.

I became one of those “situations” when I had seen and heard enough from a GM and Superintendent. I reported numerous regulatory, ethical and company policy violations with documentation. This only resulted in the GM reading the values lines to me the day before I was terminated.

This company will fail. Soon.

The posting left out a lot of details. Are you agreement or non agreement? What was the reason given for your termination? If union, did you have an investigation? If not, why not? It’s impossible to have a complete, unbiased opinion of this situation without all of the details.

@1ypx-Or maybe that person was bringing up legitimate concerns so they “got rid of him”. It happens more than we know. Read the attached link below to see what kind of company we work for.

Clearly you did something you weren’t supposed to, thought you could muddy the water by calling in the BS items to the hotline, and then were terminated. Don’t worry, your local chairman will sus it out and “defend” you in your investigation.

What I’m curious of, what does your investigation letter say they charged you for? You apparently forgot to leave that detail out.

UP wasn’t rated as the worst company to work for 2 years in a row by mistake. They definitely earned it.

Survey is not confidential, you have to be logged onto Up computer to fill it out . You have to use your id and password to use a Up pc . They know names of who does the survey.

Even though UP claims the employee engagement survey was confidential, this confirms that it’s not true. Remember that when they harass you to do it.
