Our DVP is saying that there is a list of stores that will be closing at the start of the year and announced early next month. He said he has the list for stores in our division, one of the stores including one that was changed into a fulfillment and item pick-up center. Has anyone heard about the list. Seems like the company has identified the stores that are to close next year, anyone have any idea how many stores or if they are mostly the old neighborhood buildings?

They will close Non-profitable stores where they can sell the building or get out of the lease. To say all neighboorhood stores are closing means that person knows absolutley nothing. That designation doesn't even exist anymore.
Its inspirational and experiential.
DVP in NJ and Philly are both women so not sure who the other male DVP is and what area is reporting this. Very possible NJ could have 2 locations this time but if anyone has solid info please comment. Hamilton in Mays Landing possibly?? Not sure what other site other than the usual names thrown out there for many years now
I am hearing that 2 NJ Macy's are going to be on the list.
Macy’s needs to close more full line stores so that better locations can get the proper treatment! Macy’s store is attached dying or dead malls really should be the first to go in my opinion! Especially with ones with little to no redevelopment plans and in a ghetto.
The reason why companies like Dillard‘s, Boscov’s, and Von Maur do so well is because they don’t have an exorbitant amount of stores. I mean, it also helps that they’re privately family owned but yeah my pint is still valid.
All of the neighborhood stores are closing? Can someone confirm this please. Thanks so much!
Yes... all of them
