I've been applying to any job that's within my qualifications/interest for about ten days and so far I have gotten no responses. Is this normal? It's been a while since I last applied for a job and I can see things have changed significantly. Still, you'd think I'd get a single response from dozens of applications I've sent out.

Job market is rough right now. I have been looking for a new job in my field for over a year and finally landed one and will be starting the new job next year. I am leaving 3M voluntarily. It is easier to find a job when you are already employed. If you aren’t laid off, try to jump ship before they get you
It took me six months to find another opportunity and I’ve been gone for about a month. I took a pay cut but it is a small price to pay for where I’m at now. I’m 1000x happier. I never realized how toxic 3M was until I joined a company that actually has competent leadership at the helm. Bottom line is to just hang in there and keep applying. The market is tough but you will find something better. I wish you the best!
My 3M position was job eliminated. I used the 3M provided outplacement counseling and guidance. Some hints: 1) emails to job boards and posting, on average yield one interview for over 100 resumes sent, 2) personal references, on average yield one interview for 6 contacts, and references.
To the original post, your experience is not out of the ordinary.
Have someone you trust go over your resume and LinkedIn profile. But it's near the end of year -- many people using their PTO and some places just shut down. Many budgets start Jan 1, too. I think you'll see more responses by mid-Jan. Keep applying -- it's still a bit of a numbers game.
Yes, the job market is really awful right now, especially for white collar/office jobs.
I've been looking a while now and been keeping statistics, from my experience:
About half (just over 50%) of all companies never respond at all.
Among the other half, the average time to respond is around 25 calendar days.
I've been getting recruiter calls for about 10% of the jobs I apply for, and enter the formal interview process for about 5%.
My search has been going on for about a year and I have applied for around 200 jobs at this point.
Keep in mind it's the end of the year and people are using their vacation time. You'll hear something the first or second week of January. Life outside of 3M is happy and thriving.
To clarify, it's not unusual to not hear. My wording in the first sentence isn't clear :-)
I would say, yes. Don't take it personal. While there are a lot of jobs, I believe there are also a lot of candidates. If you are active on LinkedIn, you will see others comment on 'ghosting' and I don't believe that is unusual. It also, depends on how long the jobs are posted, it could take a couple weeks or more (now with the holidays) to hear anything. Just my two cents, but I sure others have additional or different thoughts. It takes time...
