Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

RSUs vesting (layoff)

I have RSUs vesting in March. What happens to them if i am laid off in February. Would i be given my shares? How does it work for Senior Execs. whose compensation is based on RSUs?

It seems a bit dishonest and bad faith to have me work for the whole year and just lay me off one month before the vesting date. Are there any laws that can protect me?

Well, Dell IS a bad faith company. They lie, cheat and steal for a buck and would f-ck anything and anyone over. Senior execs are part of that problem.

If you are an I9 and you aren’t getting RSU’s then you are doing something wrong.

The ones you can vest before your last day can be vested. The rest are gone.

The company I was laid off from in early 2002 forward dated our separation dates to enable us to have the shared vest. Since I have been working for EMC/Dell for 20 years I don’t know what they would do.

Any shares scheduled to vest within 30 days of the last day work you get to keep.

OP here: I am not a Senior Exec, but an I9.

I was curious how it worked for Senior Executives and think the same logic will be applied to everyone else.

In most companies, it you leave for any reason before they vest, you lose them unless it is spelled out in your contract.

most likely pro-rated. its not one lump sum at a certain date.

You are a sr exec and you dont know this.
this is why dell is a dumpster fire
