The warn notice applies only for the layoff happening at U.S ?

California's WARN Act mandates employers to provide notice for mass layoffs of 50 or more employees. However, in the case of Symantec, Broadcom did not give a 60-day notice, and the number of people laid off should be less than 50.

Which team/locations have been affected?

The engineers, who previously worked at Symantec and still hold H1B visas, face the challenge of finding new jobs within 60 days. This period is particularly difficult.
Symantec’s management has been poor, and eventually, their positions will be eliminated.

They decided to let go, that can't be avoided. Atleast they should have done after New year. Which site got affected ?

The SED management team laid off engineers on Christmas Eve without any consideration for the impact—no mercy at all.
It is damaging Broadcom's reputation.
