I hear from chupka that all USRs (utility service rep) are on chopping block.

Local 975 members today were informed of the numbers they are looking at. They are:
45 Field staff spread across the entire LEG area
11 from VPC location
Total of 56
It would seem that if the number is indeed 100 that there will be 44 for the LUG Unifor locals coming.
When a CBA expires the company still have to follow the rules that currently apply until a new one is settled. All USR’s are safe as far as I can see
A USR at LUG is the same as an Ops Tech at LEG. Cant see many of them being cut. They are essentially gas techs and fitters, highly valuable in rural areas because they save multiple trips on many calls.
I doubt that. I suspect the work they get you to do could change though.
I personally think they may target the 8833 call centre and clerical staff though.
Over 20 years ago Enbridge completely outsourced all the call centre people from 975. History has a way of repeating itself sometimes.
The non-call centre clerical staff are more expensive than their LEG counterparts from what I understand; so that could make them a target too. They may send their work to the USW staffed offices.
I heard the CBA expired and that this local is working without a new contract. That does not help the situation either.
Utility Service Rep. Cross between a PSI and a Fitter for legacy Enbridge people.
I don't know who chupka is
The field workers in legacy union gas areas are USR’s
What is a USR?
The company is going to break the collective agreement? That would be costly
