The fact that Tim Wentworth and the Board feel there is value in having Tracy Brown as part of this organization tells you everything you need to know. This company is doomed. So many qualified and capable people have been run off by Roz, Hsiao, AND Tracy, yet the most openly ridiculed, completely unqualified, and one of the highest ranking leaders (without a single tangible accomplishment to stand behind) remains employed. Embarrassing, telling, and borderline criminal. Shame on you Walgreens. Shame on you......our only hope is this company is bought by someone who actually cares, will clean the entire house (including this terrible Board), and bring this company back to its greatness.

.....and she's still there. Wow.....criminal......
I'm not saying he's a somebody. In fact, I recognize he's just a linkedin influencer. HOWEVER, his article had a significant role in the firing of Hsiao. Before that article came out, people were living in fear of being fired. Nobody dared really to speak out against Hsiao. When Ladd's article came out, it immediately made its round across the company, and provided an avenue for employees to voice their concerns more openly, both directly to Ladd (his sources) and within the culture of Walgreens. Employees realized they are not alone. It is because of this driving force that made people spoke up against Hsiao's unreasonable approaches and took a stand. The voices of the people then reached up to senior and executive management. Ladd may be a hack, I don't know, but in this particular case, his article made a real difference.
Ok whose ear does he have? I don't hear any CPG or retail firm actually call him out. He's not a partner of any major consultancy or a VP or above in any CPG/retail company. He's has held middle management positions at retail and consultant companies...but so have a lot of people. I'm in middle management at Walgreens. It doesn't mean I'm a thought leader in anything.
He makes a lot of noise online, but I've yet to see any evidence that he's an actual leader on anything. If Amazon wanted market share, they certainly wouldn't be going after Walgreens. We have a miniscule share of MULO and Amazon has significantly lowered investment from physical stores. Just because people click like on his posts doesn't make him a big deal. It just reinforces the ridiculous atmosphere that LinkedIn in which is basically the Facebook of jobs where likes are about as meaningful as monopoly money. You might like what he has to say and you might agree with what he says, but that doesn't make him a somebody in the world of retail.
Brittain Ladd is not a nobody. He’s got someone’s ear. And he’s been right about everything he’s written so far. Some you can’t prove but the writing is on the wall. And Amazon doesn’t acquire to run these businesses. They acquire to scoop up market share. Is that you Tracy? Certainly seems like it given how clueless your comment is
@1gio+1qZUgPhW Just because the shield is incompetent, doesn't mean they didn't pick them to be a shield. Afterall, Biden picked Harris who was at the bottom of the primary race.
I don't know why everyone cites that post by Brittain Ladd. He's a nobody who happens to write stuff on the internet. It's not like he's some retail expert. He thinks he is, but he's not. I mean he thinks Amazon should acquire Walgreens? You'd have to be living under a rock to recommend that, knowing that Amazon recently cut back on physical stores, the fact that Walgreens rents much of its stores, and that there isn't a very good reason for Amazon to acquire a business that continually is losing share, notably to Amazon itself.
Why would you want a shield that incompetent? That's like making a suit of armor out of pancakes.
She’s a bootlicking DEI hire. Tracey only serves one purpose and that’s the dirty work of explaining layoffs so they don’t have to themselves.
SHE WHO REMAINS
Brittain Ladd's article online says that Roz and Tracy, etc. were used as a shield. Walgreens is trying to prevent prosecution for the Theranos debacle.
