Thread regarding Alphabet Inc. (Google) layoffs

Google is still a great place to work

At least it's a great place to work for those of us who don't have to worry about layoffs. I think we overhired in past years and something like this was inevitable. Things will calm down once the fat is trimmed. What's happening right now is not fun, but it's necessary.

Google is a great place to work so I can get free amenities, hide from working, do my chores and work-out before picking up the kids. Yes. Great place to work for me.

Sinking ship, but too large so it will take decades. Just be part of this gravy train and fatten our bank accounts for retirement. Just enjoy the extra perks until they cut them.

Google was never a great place to work. All I have seen in the five years working here is a bunch of Gen Z's with self-entitlement mentalities. The Gen Z's think they know everything and disrespect older workers. You can hear a lot of them bragging about not paying their college loans because they bought new cars or like to go out to eat all the time and also take expensive vacations.

@OP - What new products did Google come up with over the past 10+ years?
