One idea that is floating around to help "greenwash" the GDS BU is to implement pay car parking at the Toronto VPC office.
Exemptions will be made for carpoolers and electric cars first and possibly other exemptions offered in the future. Charge stations will be installed too.
What would a fair monthly rate look like?

This makes zero sense and I think this is a troll post. Enbridge owns and operates the property, why would they charge their own employees for parking at this location when it’s free at all other 60+ properties in Ontario? Also the number of meetings hosted at VPC that requires employees from other locations to attend. There are NGV fill stations, Operations vehicles, Stations Ops, etc. Stop trolling!
When faced with a claim like this, you have to ask themselves, "Where's the value in attempting to greenwash an image by implementing pay parking?" Of course the answer is, "there is none." Zero. Zilch.
This isn't just not smart, it's really, really, really not smart. It's making noise for the sake of it.
That’ll get ‘em back in the office!
That would upset a lot of people to the point where I don't think it's gonna happen anytime soon. Many people commute from nearby GTA cities we can't pretend like we have seamless convenient transit serving all parts of the GTA. If there was a subway or GO station right next to VPC then fine there's maybe a case but right now you have to take a bus to get there we're in North York not downtown. In the next 10-15 years there will be a Sheppard subway extension that will create a station nearby but until then I doubt it's happening.
It wont happen unless VPs and higher get an exemption too
I think that for employees that work out of there a discounted yearly rate that gets deducted from their STIP payment should be offered.
Have daily rates for employees that are not based out of that office but also make weekly and monthly discounted rates available for any folks working there temporarily.
Not enough to keep your job unfortunately but thanks for idea and keep up with great initiatives.
Cordially,
Management
