I was punished in my performance review because I did not flatter a toxic manager. He was let go last year but still he created a negative atmosphere where his reports completely act without integrity even now. This article is spot on and requires serious fixing of toxic culture that provides advantage to incompetent people who flatter their bosses. The remnant effects still remain even after the toxic manager is let go.
