Optum just like the circus is full of a lot of 🤡! The biggest one being Bozo the CEO. Then the rest of management that follow behind him! Don’t be a clown anymore! Don’t just stick around here for the check. Working here is damaging you in ways money can’t compensate for!! The best thing I ever did was leave this clown show!!! Trust me I know it seems scary to do something else, but Optum doesn’t care about you! They will literally drive the kn--e in your back when you’re down and end you if given the chance! Don’t let them - take control of your life!

I, too, chose to take the high road after having my decades long career decimated in 4 months under the worst witch who ever lived. Sometimes I’m annoyed that I didn’t fight that hosebeast with all my might. But for what?
Now, life is decent again. I’m not running screaming from my desk with a migraine every night. I’m not drinking every night to dull the pain of having to answer to a soulless battle who has worms and rabid bats where a brain and a heart should be. I work with decent, normal, appreciative people who are sane and rational. AND, I make more money. Thank you sweet baby Jesus for getting me out of that gulag. I just popped by to see if anything changed and, surprise surprise, it’s getting worse. Folks, the migraines, the cortisol belly, the tears…you can earn a paycheck AND not be miserable. Get your lives back.
Couldn't agree more!!!
You have to decide what you want. There are teams at Optum where you can coast an do absolutely nothing and still collect decent salary, but you have to deal with the instability of layoffs nearly every Thursday. I left last year for more stability and substantially more money. Just collected my 20 percent bonus, but I am working harder than I have ever have in my life. Its not sustainable but at least I'm getting well compensated for it.
To Prof Parker… you do realize the goals are a bunch of BS right? They mean nothing. We exceed them all the time and they just move the goalposts.
From an individual standpoint, documenting goals is just for terrible managers that don’t know what their employees do.
And everyone loves a Circus? I just wished we would close out Performance Reviews within 30 days not 60-90 days. Also next years goals should have been rolled out and in place so we have a full year to achieve and measure against goals. We need better foresight. I wonder if we even know what the ideal headcount is?
I did not walk, I RAN out of there just before common review. I just could not bear another one hour call about
how bad my work was after being there over 10 years. Just lies, lies, lies, meant to "justify" no raise. It was an insult to my intelligence. I chose to take the high road in my resignation but, believe me, it was very difficult.
Actually a zero Ring circus.🎪
RUN, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN & DON'T LOOK BACK!!
